Medical Marijuana Amendment Missing on Broward Ballots

In the video above, Diane Matteston describes how medical marijuana helped her sleep and deal with the chronic pain associated with her degenerative disc disease. She expresses her support for Amendment 2, or the Florida Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative, which will be on the ballot in Florida on Tuesday.

The Miami Herald reported that the Florida chapter of the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) filed a lawsuit against Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes after two Oakland Park voters received absentee ballots that omitted Amendment 2. Circuit Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips denied the motion, writing “that Snipes had already taken steps to fix the situation, including providing replacement ballots to those who asked for them and by instructing elections officials to examine ballots to determine whether they contain the amendment.”

Amendment 2 is a serious issue to several Floridians who need cannabis to alleviate pain or other symptoms associated with their medical conditions. If you were arrested in South Florida for alleged possession of marijuana, you will want to contact a Broward County marijuana attorney as soon as possible.
